The other night I was struck with inspiration after hearing the 2008 song “All The Same To Me” by Anya Marina. (And became an instant fan!) I’d watched someone’s tribute to their favorite Ladies of Film Noir from the 40’s & 50’s.
Money Flower has been on my mind this week and I thought the song would be a perfect match. There’s a definite gloomy noir theme to both the drama and the song that blend well. It’s jazzy and sensuous with a hint of pop fun.
For those unfamiliar with the term, Film Noir is defined as – A style or genre of cinematographic film marked by a mood of pessimism, fatalism, and menace. The term was originally applied (by a group of French critics) to American thriller or detective films made in the period 1944–54 and to the work of directors such as Orson Welles, Fritz Lang, and Billy Wilder.
I love making videos so when that urge hits I jump on it and get into a creative zone. I didn’t have many distractions so I was able to create it in two days. Hopefully I’ll be inspired to make more Kdrama videos. I’d only made two many years ago for Chuno, one for Lee Daegil and one for Song Tae Ha.
My regret is that the Chuno clips were subpar because Youtube didn’t have full HD yet. I shudder when I remember the very early years with only 240p! You can watch the new video at 1080HD. Youtube and I aren’t friends these days as they’d removed a lot of my content for other fandoms. So here’s hoping they keep up my Kdrama videos!
