Jang Hyuk character clay dolls 2017 – We need your help!

Hi everyone! I’m sorry to come back to blogging to ask for help with something, instead of posting about Jang Hyuk’s absolutely mesmerizing beauty in Money Flower. But, I promise to come back for that! I mean if you are a Hyuk enthusiast and you are not watching this! I beg you! check it out! Plot? who cares about plot? Just look at this!

Ok but, more on Money Flower later. Right now I want to remind you guys, that December 20th is approaching. Aha! and what’s on Dec 20th? you may ask…Well, December 20th is the day our beautiful mother in law (Jang Hyuk’s mom) gave birth to that gorgeous man. YES! so it’s an important date for us Hyukie fans.

And as it is tradition, every year DC Jang Hyuk Gallery fans (of which our dear Gumi is a member) have these amazing, very elaborate, hand made clay dolls especially made for him. As you can see from Hyuk’s expression in the picture below, he LOVES these presents. He really values them as they represent his fan’s appreciation for the characters he creates with so much passion and dedication.

As you know, fan support events and gifts, always depend on fans collaboration and it’s always a struggle. This year is no exception and the DC Jang Hyuk Gallery team needs as much help as possible to make them happen. Would you be interested in helping? Any contribution will be deeply appreciated. The decision to make the dolls this year will be made on Monday (Korea time, therefore tomorrow in US time) and it will depend on how many contributions we can collect.

¡Muchas gracias!

See below previous year’s beautiful dolls.

Jang Hyuk character clay dolls – Fans birthday present

Hi there again! On my previous post I mentioned these beautiful clay dolls so I figured I should give them their own post. As many of you probably already know, Jang Hyuk’s birthday is this month, December 20th to be exact. Every year, his fans make clay dolls of Jang Hyuk’s characters of the year.

This year, our very own Gumi handed the clay dolls to Hyukie and this was his reaction. According to Gumi he said “Ohhh” Well, it is obvious from his expression that he was happy with the gifts!

Fated to love you: Princess Snail and her odd prince – Spoilers Finale

I remember when the Fated to love you posters were released, this one was the most difficult to interpret for me. It felt like a reference to The Jangs first drama, Successful Story of a Bright Girl, where she was his maid at the beginning, but I wasn’t sure that could be all. It still works as such, but it turns out, it had a lot of meaning related to Fated to love you.

During their honeymoon, while dancing with Geon, Mi Young tells him she used to do the same with her father. She remembers how her father used to call her princess, but she never felt like one, she always felt like a “maid”. A maid is someone whose job is to “serve” and help others. Once again we are reminded of one of the important personality issues of our heroine, who always saw herself as a disposable “post it” girl.

Geon reminds her that she is a princess who conquered his impenetrable heart, I guess, that’s what the poster above is about. At the same time it seems an obvious reference to Romeo and Juliet since our Snail Couple was also referred to as “Gunmeo and Milliet” in the drama 🙂

The final episode emphasized various points the writer had been trying to make throughout the drama. The idea of enjoying the present and not worry so much about the future, the idea of Fate Vs Choice, ultimately bringing home the message that choice can change and make our fate.

But it also spoke of the healing power of the words Thank You, These words were  repeated more often than the words I love you. Mi Young and Geon thanked each other all the time, and spread the same positive vibe among others. These words that Mi Young, the “post it girl” had been waiting her whole life to hear. The beauty of Mi Young is she didn’t need to turn selfish to become stronger.  Even though she was passive, we knew from the beginning that Mi Young was always on the right track and did not require a major transformation. She wanted appreciation and she wanted to become more assertive, so people wouldn’t push her away easily. So that she could take control of her life. Through determination, she accomplished all of this and became a stronger person, while retaining her essence as someone, who will not give up on those she loves. Which is beautiful, because that was never a flaw, in the first place.

So later, Geon tells his children the story of how a princess who was not good in math (I loved Mi Young’s not amused expression and him noticing  and trying to pass this segment of the story quickly) but was great in healing damaged hearts, saved the odd “Prince in distress” just by sticking to him, slowly slowly, but surely and strongly.

“Princess Snail” (copied from Soompi. The person who translated it, please tell me so I can give her credit)

Once upon a time…
there was a princess who lived on a little island.
The princess wore big, round glasses.
She wasn’t good at studying, especially with math.
She was the worst in her class.
The princess had an illness.
She had a strange illness that kept her from ever refusing a stranger’s request.
It also kept her from abandoning anyone once she had accepted them.
She doesn’t even know that she’s a princess but thinks of herself as a maid.

There was also an odd prince who lived in a neighboring country.
At first, the prince called the princess Princess Snail, or just snail.
“Where did the snail go?”
“Have you seen the snail?”
That’s how he talked.

little by little…
The princess approached the prince…
and made him fall in love with her.

One day…
The prince eventually became addicted to the princess.
He also had an illness that meant he couldn’t live without her.
People worried about the prince and felt sorry for him.
But the prince wasn’t scared at all.
It’s because the princess was with him.
As long as the princess stays with him…
and as long as the princess loves him…
the prince will never be sick again.

The princess and the prince have twins…
and live happily ever after.
Now they’ll be happy forever and ever.
They’ll be happy forever…

[FTLY] Message to Jang Hyuk

Attention, Gunnie lovers!

DC Jang Hyuk gallery is collecting love letters for JH&Gunnie…no length requirement, but generally people are leaving short 1~5 sentences comments, showing appreciation to the actor who created this amazing character. They will put together the comments and deliver it to the actor.

I was just thinking that since I am feeling so much love for Gunnie here, some people might want their messages delivered too. I am at your service. I can translate the messages, we can put both Eng and Korean version of the messages in. But if there are too many messages, or if I don’t have enough time to translate all, I might have to cut off some messages…hope that wont happen.

Anyways, I will receive messages until Thursday, the last episode. Please leave your message as a comment on this post, thank you.
